Bolstered Interlocking Join
The raised border profile or bolstered-interlocking join, is a feature designed to ensure a durable floor finish and easier workability of the tiles when installing. Often “5mm” tiles are misrepresented when sold. This is done when a tile is sold as a 5mm thick tile, when in fact this includes the stud on the tile surface. This essentially means that the join itself is between 3 1⁄2 – 4mm thick. The Tru-LockTM tile is 5mm thick at the join and as such is suitable as a free-laid floor in high traffic areas with lasting results.
